Restaurant Review: Blue Jasmine at Park Hotel Farrer Park

Thai food is one of our favourite cuisines and Blue Jasmine does it well, with an authentic spread of dishes that are unlike the rest. We had the opportunity to try some of their dishes during our staycation at Park Hotel Farrer Park – read on to find out more!

Blue Jasmine is a casual, yet chic Thai restaurant with a spacious alfresco area and indoor area. On the inside, there’s bright colourful styling and mosaic tiles that encapsulates the atmosphere of Thai culture quite well. It’s a very spacious dining location, with a seating capacity that is able to accommodate up to 100 diners.

In terms of food, Blue Jasmine offers a wide selection of simple all-time favourites, with robust flavours, earthy herbs and fragrant spices imported directly from Thailand. Here are some highlights from the menu, or find out more here: https://www.parkhotelgroup.com/en/farrerpark/blue-jasmine.

Gaeng Som (Southern Thai Orange Fish Curry)

This unique Thai curry is teeming with spices, sour flavours in a thin, soupy broth. Perfect to be eaten directly over rice, or in a side bowl so you can take more advantage of slurping the broth!

Crabmeat and Cha-Om Omelette with Kapi Sauce

One of the crowd’s favourites – loaded with fresh crabmeat and a hot-and-sour sauce. Simple yet satisfyingly yummy!

Sundried Thai Marinated Chicken with Green Chili Dip

Portion wise, this dish is decent for sharing between 2-3 pax. We enjoyed all that zesty flavours, packed in this yummy grilled Sundried Thai Chicken.

Ruam Mit with Coconut Ice Cream

When this dish first arrived on the table, we were really impressed by how appetizing it looked. We haven’t ordered this before and didn’t know what to expect in terms of presentation and taste. We found out that Ruam mit is actually a popular Thai dessert made with ingredients such as coconut milk, sugar, tapioca pearls, corn, lotus root, sweet potatoes, beans, and jackfruit. And below the refreshing Coconut Ice Cream there was an abundance of ingredients – almost like a local ice kachang. A refreshing dessert to complete the meal.

Overall, we like that Blue Jasmine is a casual restaurant that features a wide selection of dishes, while staying true to the traditional flavours and Thailand’s bustling street food. The prices here are at a slightly steeper end, but it all makes sense with their beautifully decorated dishes and cosy ambience.
