Hotel Review: Park Hotel Farrer Park

If you’re looking for a staycation suited for both couples and families, recommend putting Park Hotel Farrer Park next on your list. We had a memorable 2D1N stay at this well-appointed hotel – it’s great for a short stay with plenty of time to explore the surrounding areas or enjoy the hotel’s cosy facilities.

Here’s our staycation review so you’ll know what to expect and look forward to!

Location & Vicinity

Situated in the bustling district of Serangoon Road, Park Hotel Farrer Park is definitely one of the top few and well-furnished options in the area. The convenience here is also quite unbeatable as it is located right on top of Farrer Park MRT Station. This was definitely a plus point for us to stay here as you can travel conveniently without walking too far.

The surrounding area has a vibrant community, with lots of sights and sounds to immerse in. If you love exploring and learning about different cultures, there are a few temples and places of worship to visit. You’ll also probably be quite lost for options with the variety of food available – from Indian food, to coffee shops and halal restaurants, cafes, fast food joints, bakeries, bars and more.

For shopping, you can head to City Square Mall, Mustafa Centre, Tekka Centre and other shops along the shophouses – all just 5-10 minutes walk away.

Check-in & Rooms

Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the front desk team and proceeded for check-in. Despite the safety and social distancing measures in place, the check-in process was efficiently managed and we didn’t have to wait long to receive the keys to our room.

Premier Loft

We booked the Foodcation Package which comes with a room stay, 4-course meal at Blue Jasmine and breakfast too. It’s pretty affordable and you can choose from 5 room categories depending on your party size – Superior, Deluxe, Crystal Club, Sky Loft and Premier Loft.

First level of Premier Loft

Second level of Premier Loft

We stayed in the Premier Loft, just one of 300 rooms overlooking Singapore’s iconic skyline. In terms of design, we love the modern aesthetic which blends seamlessly with the practicality of the room. The duplex storey-room and high ceiling definitely made it much more memorable, and also has a chill sofa area that you can sit back and feel right at home. It’s super spacious and can accommodate 3 people, even good for throwing a party. Our favourite part is definitely the full-length windows and the stairwell up directly into the cosy bed!

The room comes complete with modern amenities and contemporary luxuries to suit your every need. Check out the Premier Loft room here: https://www.parkhotelgroup.com/en/farrerpark/rooms/premier-loft.

Breakfast & Blue Jasmine

Before we checked into our room, we headed to Blue Jasmine for lunch which is located on level 5 of the hotel. Read our review of our lunch experience here.

Breakfast is also served here at Blue Jasmine, between 6:30am-10:30am every morning. The selections were sufficient with choices such as local delight, western and chef’s choice from their A La Carte Breakfast Set Menu, plus, servings are unlimited too! We ordered the Western Set which comes with eggs, turkey bacon, chicken sausage, potatoes and tomatoes; and a local delight set consisting of Kaya Butter Toast with eggs and Nasi Lemak. Oh yes, not forgetting the Chef’s Special of the Day which was Laksa – a must order especially if you enjoy that thick, creamy and savoury soup base.

Facilities & Amenities

More than just a place to stay, Park Hotel Farrer Park also offers staycationers a place to chill in their outdoor lap pool and a gymnasium. We love the pool vibes here, with several pool chairs to chill, busk in the sun and enjoy the breeze.

As for the gym, opening hours are from 5:00am to 11:00pm. To access, you will have to travel to the next building located just right beside the hotel and get the access key from the staff at the hotel lobby. It’s fully equipped with the standard gym equipment (free weights, treadmill, machines etc.). For both facilities, recommend making a booking beforehand or upon check-in as slots are limited.

Final verdict

Overall, the hotel’s convenient location in the bustling district of Serangoon Road is one of the highest-rated selling points we’d give. Of course, the rooms are beautifully designed and you’ll have a ton of fun in the loft rooms if you’re planning a party, a romantic staycation or even a chill out day away with the family. Not forgetting the hotel staff for their kind hospitality and taking care of us! To us, a mark of a great stay is definitely the service, and we’ll surely be back again!
