We recently took a short holiday getaway to Bintan and had the opportunity to stay at one of the most scenic and luxurious spots on the island – Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort. Tucked away in a cosy part of Bintan Island, Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort is a small and peaceful seaside hideaway and is a perfect escape from the city life.
We started our day early and took a ferry ride from the Tanah Merah Ferry terminal at around 11am. We reached Bintan in just under 1 hour (Bintan is 1 hour behind Singapore), and had a complimentary land transfer arranged upon arrival – the only downside is that we had to go on another 1 hour drive to reach the resort. But we couldn’t wait to travel to an idyllic beautiful private beach that’s away from the crowd!
Lobby area
Located at Trikora Beach, an idyllic North-Eastern part of Bintan Island, the resort is built along the shoreline allowing one to have a panoramic sea-view from most resort areas including all rooms, café, spa and pool areas. The lobby is simply decorated with a resort-like, practical and timeless setting with a mix of light brown furniture and a cosy couch area for guests.

Jacuzzi Ocean Suite
We stayed in the Jacuzzi Ocean Suite and the room is simply a sublime luxury. The room is built on water and has see-through drapes that doesn’t compromise the natural light. This charming and rustic room boils down to the texture with linen fabric, cosy pillows and weathered wooden furniture creating an ethereal ambience. We enjoyed the monochromatic palette as it certainly set the mood for our stay. There’s also an option to put up a circular mosquito nets akin to a canopy bed, but we didn’t need to use it as there wasn’t much mosquitoes buzzing around.
What made our island getaway truly special is the close proximity to nature – raw, airy and unobstructed views. That’s where our favourite part comes in: the private balcony with your very own Jacuzzi! Here’s where we spent most of our time, enjoying a hydrotherapy bath while marvelling in the majestic ocean view. A stunning view is undoubtedly the deciding factor to stay in this room.
On the amenities side, the room is equipped with an LCD TV with several movie channels, air-conditioned room and free Wi-Fi. The shower area also comes with a rain shower head that promises to amplify the rejuvenating experience.
Dining:
Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort has only one dining area called the Beachfront Restaurant – so you’ll probably have most meals here (including your complimentary breakfast). There’s both indoor and alfresco dining which serves a wide spread of Local, Chinese & Western delicacies.

On our first night, the team at Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort had kindly arranged for a Private Candlelight dinner for us! It doesn’t get more romantic than this where we had a lovely 3-course dinner at the sea top gazebo.

The next night we feasted on fresh seafood caught off the shores! Our favourite items are definitely the Steamed Garoupa and the Butter Oatmeal Squid. Both were equally spectacular and fresh!

Breakfast is also served at this restaurant daily from 7.00am – 10.00am. The breakfast buffet spread is one to indulge in, serving up a mix of Local, Chinese and Western delights along with live cooking stations. Expect toasts, ham, pancakes, sausages, and of course eggs prepared in your favourite style at the live station. More information on the Beachfront Restaurant’s menu here.

Activities:
Believe it or not, there’s tons of activities to do at Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort to keep you occupied throughout your stay. For the adventurous, a multitude of sea activities await such as snorkelling, fishing, base jumping, diving, kayaking and many more.
Swimming pool area
If not, there’s also other activities on the property itself like an outdoor spa Jacuzzi, bar games (pool table, foosball, darts, carom – all free of charge), swimming pool or even walk out onto the seabed during low tide. You can discover hundreds of little crabs and fishes scurrying around! Or choose from a wide selection of treatments that will rejuvenate your stay experience at the Trikora Spa by the sea. One of our favourite parts is definitely catching the most beautiful sunrise emerging from the ocean’s horizon. Note that the sun rises at 5.45am (local time)!

Overall, Bintan Spa Villa Beach Resort holds one of the most memorable stays for us. It is a mix of friendly and courteous staff, good food and an untouched view of the ocean. If you love the sand and sea, this is a must stay resort for you. ???
