How time flies, we’re almost done with February! Missing all the CNY celebrations with family and friends, and what better way to bring it back by indulging in some festive food! We tried the catering option from Four Seasons Catering for one of our festive reunions and were really impressed. If you’re looking for a fuss free and convenient way to feast, the Prosperity Party Box ($288.80) will be a great choice. Packed and stacked in a uniquely designed box, there’s an abundance of dishes that are perfect for a group of 8-10 pax, ideal for housewarming or any type of gathering. There are 7 menu items, here are our favourites from the selection!
Slipper Lobster in Ginger & Bean Sauce (姜丝豆酱虾婆) and Triple Snacks (黄金三宝)
We were looking forward to this dish the most, as it’s not often that you see lobsters on a catering menu, and we weren’t disappointed! The Slipper Lobster was big, fresh and the meat slipped off the shell quite easily. The meat was also sweet and balanced well with the salty bean sauce.
The triple snacks comes with the Prawn Twister, Golden Fish Ball with Roe and Golden Sesame Lava Ball. A really popular dish amongst kids, we liked how the snacks maintains its crispiness – which is pretty crucial especially when it comes to fried items. The golden fish ball is our favourite with a little burst of fish roe surprise in the centre!
Deep Fried Chicken tossed with Mixed Spices (香料脆鸡)
Golden Fish Fillet with Creamy Black Pepper & Tomato Sauce (黑椒奶汁鱼片) and Broccoli with Scallop (带子西兰花)
XO Fried Rice with Chicken Ham (X.O 鸡丁炒饭)
Surprisingly, this main staple made it to one of our favourites. We typically stay away from carb items as much as we can and focus on the more meaty dishes. This time around, we kept going for second helpings for the addictive XO flavour. It’s not overwhelming to the point of alcoholic, but just that nice lingering aroma and bits of chicken ham made it good.
Fried Pandan Tang Yuan (Coconut) 班兰椰丝汤圆(炸)
Overall, the Four Seasons Catering Prosperity Party Box was well received by my family and friends. It fit the needs of a small group party and was an extremely fuss-free way of dining with pretty tasty dishes. For more information, visit here.
