The one event I am putting down into my November calendar is the AccorHotels Singapore Food & Wine Festival. If you’re anything of a foodie, alcohol connoisseur or hospitality enthusiast, this is bound to make you extremely excited.
Organized by the largest hospitality operator in Singapore, AccorHotels is hosting their inaugural Singapore Food & Wine Festival, happening from 4 to 12 November 2017. This 9-day long event will see 15 hotels and over 40 restaurants and bars coming together to deliver an exclusive culinary experience. Lookout for several prestigious hospitality brands in the lineup including Fairmont, Raffles, Swissotel, Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure & ibis in Singapore.
I am personally thrilled about this festival, as it has made dining at the luxury hotels more accessible and wallet-friendly. My dreams of dining at one Michelin Star JAAN and soaking it up in the hotels’ pools with free flow alcohol – checking these off! Variety of food is also something I value, and thus experiencing AccorHotels’ diversity from fine European cuisine to casual local delights over the 9 days is right up my alley.
Here are some of the festival highlights that I am looking forward to:
1. Pool Partying
The festival kicks off on 4 November 2017 with five pool parties at SO Sofitel, Fairmont & Swissotel Singapore, Swissotel Merchant Court, Mercure Bugis and Ibis Styles Macpherson. Thinking about sipping on drinks at one of the Bali beach clubs? – now we can get the experience right at our doorsteps during this festival.
What’s more, each of the five parties has their very own distinct style, food menu and entertainment program. For myself, I am eyeing the pool party at SO Sofitel. SO Sofitel’s known for having a rebellious energy with a fusion of old-world French design and contemporary charm, with stylish touches added by Karl Lagerfield himself. At the pool party, Gold 90.5FM will be doing a live broadcast, and grilled hawker-styled tidbits and free-flowing prosecco will be served.
I can already imagine the sweet afternoon revelry on 4 November.

2.Festival Set Menus
Each AccorHotels properties have created a special set lunch and dinner menu for the festival. The curated menus consist of three to four courses, and comes with a glass of red or white wine for dinner. These menus offer great value – take for instance JAAN where lunch and dinner typically starts from S$88++/S$190++ respectively. At the festival, we get a taste of their culinary finesse at just S$47++ (lunch) and S$67++ (dinner)!
With AccorHotels’ impressive gastronomic diversity, it is easy to find a restaurant that suits our taste and budget. Some star dishes that I am looking forward to include:
Spanner Crab with Wasabi Mayonnaise on Seaweed Crackers (SO Sofitel)
Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio (Racines at Sofitel Singapore City Centre)
Burrata with Iberico Ham and Marinated Peach (Equinox at Swissotel The Stamford)
The set menus are separated into three pricing tiers:
- Luxury hotels (Swissotel The Stamford, Swissotel Merchant Court, Fairmont Singapore, Sofitel Singapore City Centre, Sofitel Sentosa Resort & Spa, SO Sofitel Singapore and Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy): Lunch S$47++, Dinner S$67++
- Midscale hotels (Novotel Clarke Quay, Novotel Singapore on Stevens, Mercure Singapore Bugis, Mecure Singapore on Stevens): Lunch S$27++, Dinner S$47++
- Ibis hotels (Ibis Styles MacPherson, Ibis Bencoolen, Ibis Novena): Lunch S$15++, Dinner S$27++
For AccorPlus and Far Card members, a further discount of 10% and 15% is available at restaurants and bars respectively. Reserve your seats here: http://accorhotelsfoodfestival.com/category/restaurants-bars/
3. Masterclasses with Top Chefs
Opportunities to learn from the best do not come easy.
Rub shoulders with top chefs during the festival from cooking lessons with Executive Chef Louis Tay (Swissotel Merchant Court) and Chef de Cuisine Kirk Westaway (JAAN, Swissotel The Stamford), to conjuring cocktails with the guidance of Bannie Kang (Head Craftsman at Anti:dote, Fairmont Singapore) and Amos Ting (Bar and Billards Room, Raffles Singapore).
The amount of talent in the above is astounding. Bannie herself is the Champion of the 2016 Bacardi Legacy Global Competition and Asia’s Best Female Bartender for three consecutive years from 2013 to 2015. I had two glasses of her signature Kwa Chae of watermelon topped with rum and beer and it wasn’t enough!
4. Sunday Mega Brunch
Marking the conclusion of the festival on a high note, a Super Sunday Brunch will take place at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa on 12 November 2017. All 43 participating restaurants and bars will come together to showcase their signature dishes and drinks.
There’s also an exciting lineup of entertainment, including international DJs and health and wellness workouts. Children are also taken care of with kid-friendly mocktails. Stay peeled on the AccorHotels Singapore Food & Wine Festival website for more details!
It is easy to see why the AccorHotels Singapore Food & Wine Festival 2017 is going to be a highlight in the food calendar. What a treat it will be to bring along girlfriends to the pool party, your partner for a set dinner and colleagues for after work drinks at the participating bars for a great time of food and bonding.
Lastly, to top it all off, there are prizes to be won, including dining vouchers, free stays at the AccorHotel properties and even a trip for two to Sydney or Paris. You will receive a festival passport during the 9-day event, for the collection of stamps whenever you dine at one of their outlets. With three stamps and above, you are eligible for a lucky draw.
Additionally, if you pay by Mastercard or are an AccorPlus, Le Club AccorHotels or Far Card member, it grants you three stamps and makes you eligible immediately! Le Club AccorHotels membership is free at https://www.accorhotels.com/gb/leclub/index-no-connect.shtml.
