Although I love to eat, I am a health-conscious person so naturally I was so excited when MUNCH invited me for a food tasting session at Orchard Gateway! 🙂
Enough said, let’s get to the part which I am most excited for, the FOOODDDDDD!!!!
One thing that makes MUNCH significantly unique and popular is their variety of more than 60 recipes just for their salads alone! WOW! I always thought that salads only consist of vegetables and fruits but here at MUNCH some of their bestsellers include tofu, chicken and even salmon! Moreover, all their salads are painstakingly cut by hand instead of using a machine to maintain the freshness of these yummy ingredients.

You can pick 2 or 3 or 4 salads at $7.90, $9.90 and $11.90 respectively. If you find that salads alone are not filling enough, you can order a meat item (either fish or rotisserie) to pair with your salads!
I was impressed by the variety of salads they had which made it hard forme to choose what I wanted. I was then offered their bestsellers to try!

Roasted Vegetables and Wild Mushroom Tofu
Wild Mushroom Tofu – This is my favourite! The tofu was soft and the sautéed mushrooms were so flavourful. The sauce complemented well which made this dish really delicious!
Salmon Caesar Salad – Thick and fresh servings of salmon served with lettuce, cucumber and carrots. I love this dish as it was refreshing and simply yummy!
Cherry Tomatoes – They were so fresh, crispy and juicy! Little seasoning was used yet it enhanced the sweetness of these cherry tomatoes.
Soba Noodles – What I love most about it is its simplicity yet it has a naturally sweet taste which made it so tasty.

Rosti with John Dory Fish @ $10.90, with Salmon Slab @ $14.90
They have other really great options to choose from such as German Bratwurst and Roasted Chicken to pair with your Rosti!
The Rostis came in generous portions; brown on the outside, crispy on the inside. Always a pleasure to dig into this grated potatoes of JOY!!
MUNCH uses premium coffee beans from Dutch Colony Coffee Co. Do not be mistaken by the name that the origin of the beans came from Netherlands. In fact, the owners from Indonesia were inspired by the Dutch who brought the beans into Indonesia! The Flat White which I got to try was a perfect brew for me, it was not overly roasted with a smooth and full flavour. A good cup of coffee can often revitalise our minds and it certainly did for me from its distinct aroma of coffee beans.
The hot chocolate was smooth and creamy; with just the right balance of sweetness which was not too overwhelming for me. Also not forgetting the presentation style and warm creamy colour, which was really a pleasure to view as I enjoy the creative effort of coffee art. I hope to try it out one day and craft my own coffee art ideas!
