KOKOMAMA Market Place- Fusion Goodness for the Local Palate

Conveniently situated in the heart of Singapore at Dhoby Ghaut at the Singapore School of the Arts, KOKOMAMA serves a wide range of international fusion dishes to the local palate, hence termed the “Market Place”.
KOKOMAMA focuses on french pastries where they use the best ingredients honing all the way from Europe to churn out quality items. Many other food and beverages are also served in this hip fusion cafe with savoury choices such as bread bowls, and dessert items like waffles and Korean bingsu!

Designed with white walls and complemented with brightly lit hanging lamps, it definitely livens up the atmosphere to give customers a cozy and nostalgic environment which is perfect for a simple catch up session with friends. I also love how they mix and match their furniture pieces, imitating a typical market place.

Signature Croissants

Custard Croissant

With the golden brown crust giving way into crackling crumbs, the sweet dough beneath it makes these treats a satisfying one. When heated, the custard texture was rich and buttery with the “lava” oozing out. The untoasted ones were far more stretchy, still tasty but I would prefer them to be heated up. Be spoiled with three choices – Salted Egg, Peanut and Custard. My favourite is the Peanut flavour, something different and unique. However these croissants are a lil greasy, I prefer them to be slightly healthier.

Fusion Pizzas

KOKOMAMA added a touch of Singapore’s local flavours to the typical flatbread and that is how the Chili Crab and Salted Egg Pizzas came about! Chunks of crabmeat and fresh prawns on salted egg yolk based pizza – Pure Bliss.

Snappy Strawberry and Mango Madness – $12.90 each

Matcha Craze – $12.90

Korean Bingsus are always pure indulgence especially to beat the humid weather in Singapore. The Matcha Bingsu comes with chewy yuzu mochi, nicely balanced with a dollop of sweet red beans, walnuts, almonds and topped with a scoop of green tea ice cream.

Salted Egg Pasta – $15.90

KOKOMAMA Marketplace is a good place to go for their croissants and pasta, however they could certainly change up and fine tune some of their items especially in the competitive food scene.
