Mid-Autumn Festival 2015 arrives at SUCRE with their Fleurs d’Automne Mooncake Gift set, which are so exquisitely packed and designed to incorporate everyone’s favourite autumn season!
A box of classic mooncakes from Sucre comes in the form of gold-laced floral motifs. I was pleased when I received it, it was so elegant and beautifully designed. This year’s theme for the mooncake set is titled as – ‘Fleurs d’Automne’, also known as ‘Flowers of Autumn’. The colour ash blue was used to convey the mood of high autumn while flowers on the box are designed such that they are ‘emptied’ of colours to reflect the Mid-Autumn Festival and the changing season. The Fleurs d’Automne gift box is replete with SUCRE’s signature colours of bold pink and luxurious gold. Design-wise, the floral outlines in gold are reminiscent of a luxurious arabesque as the overlapping flowers in two different shades of pink create a strong textural contrast.
This year’s highlight is the White Lotus Seed Paste with Pineapple and Single Yolk flavour. The saltiness of the single yolk complements well with the smooth and fragrant white lotus seed paste. With a hint of pineapple filling embedded in this traditional baked mooncake, this flavourful delight stood out among the rest.
Other tantalizing flavours I tried features the White Lotus Paste with Melon Seeds, White Lotus Paste with Oolong and Pu-er tea, and the White Lotus Paste with Macadamia Nuts. Sucre’s Mooncakes won my heart by having the right balance of sweetness as it was not overly-sweet. Coupled with the beautiful packaging, I am sure that they are great gifts for this season.
Besides the traditional mooncakes, SUCRE is also introducing a new collection of artisanal soft cookies. They were so delicious and I could not stop munching on these little gems! Flavours include Florentins (Honey, Orange and Almond), Chocolate Noir a l’orange (Dark Chocolate with Orange) and Myrtille Pistache (Blueberry Pistachio).
Good news foodies! From September 14 to 27, you can find SUCRE’s Fleurs d’Automne Mooncake Gift Sets and artisanal cookies at the Mid-Autumn Festival Fairs at JEM Shopping Mall and Parkway Parade Shopping Centre.
