5 Reasons To Stay At The New Capri by Fraser, China Square (Singapore)

Had a little staycation getaway at Frasers Hospitality’s newest property – Capri by Fraser, China Square, and we were super impressed with the offerings! The hotel’s high-tech, social and design-led experiences at the different spaces certainly exceeded our expectations and truly meets the lifestyle needs of any e-generation travellers. If you’re planning to book a stay here, perhaps our 5 reasons might help you make that decision!

1. Stay in a seamless and connected, well-appointed rooms

Spanning 16,000 square metres over 16 floors, Capri by Fraser, China Square offer guests a convenient stay with seamless connectivity throughout the hotel. Guests can make reservations and check-in with just a simple touch of an app via a chatbot. With 304 rooms available in Superior, Deluxe, Executive and Studio configurations, each guest room is optimized with technological systems like wireless charging; and eco-saving initiatives like motion sensors so you won’t have to slot in that dreaded keycard to power your room.

Each room and space in the hotel is also designed with a lifestyle-focused element, so there’s plenty of communal/ lounge-type rest areas available. The interior has a vibrant and inviting atmosphere and is designed with a mural of old Chinatown, interpreted with a distinctly modern twist. We love how it also complements the top to bottom windows – overlooking the Chinatown district. Besides the seamless facilities and services of a smart hotel, the rooms here are all equipped with a microwave, with some rooms featuring a full kitchenette including a washing area, cooker and hob. For those who didn’t bring their chargers, fret not, as each room is equipped with wireless charging. Hooray!

2. Access to The Den, a club lounge with tons of board games, free-flow food and drinks (Open 24/7)

If you’re planning to book a staycay here, recommend booking the executive or studio executive rooms to gain access to their club lounge, The Den! Located on level 2 of the property, it’s the perfect spot to spend your afternoons just lazing around, and feasting on the free-flow meals and snacks – which are replenished daily. Take your pick from small bites, sandwiches, or microwaveable-meals like chicken rice, pasta, nasi lemak and more.

Besides the free-flow food and drinks, you can pretty much spend your entire day here with the ton of board games available. Whether you’re in a party of 2, 4 or more – there’s certainly a suitable board game for the entire group. Take your pick from classic games like Jenga, Pictionary, Charades, Hedbanz, Monopoly and more. A pretty cool thing about the monopoly board here is that it’s the electronic banking edition – so you can do away without the hassle of counting the cash!

3. Exciting culinary experience awaits at JÙN

Putting a refreshed spin on familiar Chinese and local cuisine, guests can look forward to a hearty feast and a visual treat at JÙN. The all-day dining restaurant offers an exciting culinary experience in a charming modern dining setting, and is the property’s in-house F&B spot where you’ll usually start your mornings at, with an international breakfast spread.

Situated at the heart of Chinatown, JÙN offers an environment that’s perfect for a quick lunch, or even corporate functions. We anticipate many bookings during the festive or seasonal celebrations, and definitely a wedding enue contender with such a dedicated menu and at a central location too. Some of the highlights from their lunch set menu includes – appetizer trio of Chilli Crab Kueh Pie Tee, Deep Fried Chinese Cruller with Seafood Paste and Bai Ye Tofu salad. For mains, we got the Braised Dong Po Pork Belly, Steamed Egg White Prawns and Braised Eggplant with Salted Mackerel and Minced Pork. Definitely worth a try.

4. Rooftop pool with music underwater, interactive gym & #OOTD spots

Just when you think we’re done introducing the sleek features or how technologically-integrated the property is, we’re not yet done! If you’re a fitness junkie and crave for something new to get your adrenaline pumping each morning, the gym here is pretty interactive with the PRAMA workout corner. Of course there are the usual weight machines and treadmills, but the PRAMA workout corner makes exercising fun – with different programming, levels and exercises.

Otherwise, take a dip in the hotel’s rooftop pool where you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the juxtaposition of traditional shophouses and the modern office buildings. But that’s not the main highlight – dive underwater and you’ll surely be surprised with the pool’s piped-in music underwater. YES, listen to music underwater! We can’t even begin to understand how that works, but it’s definitely a pretty cool feature.

5. Centrally located to nearby attractions, culture, food and #ootd spots

With its enviable location, Capri by Fraser, China Square is a short walk from many of Singapore’s most vibrant attractions for visitors and locals alike. Soak up the heritage of old Chinatown and discover an array of restaurants and bars on Club Street and beyond. Walk in the opposite direction and explore the delights of the Singapore River, with entertainment venues at Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and even Marina Bay within easy reach, and even easier to enjoy, especially after dark. Located centrally between the CBD-district on its front yard, and a cultural-rich spots in its backyard, Capri by Fraser, China Square is inevitably one of the most convenient locations to stay at. With just a short walking distance to many vibrant attractions, both locals and tourists will surely appreciate just how central the hotel is.

We immersed ourselves in the local culture after breakfast and ventured out for more food in the nearby district – notably Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, Amoy Street Food Centre, Maxwell Food Centre and People’s Park Food Centre. For those looking to shop in the vicinity, the row of streets at Chinatown might be a good place to start; otherwise a mall-option is the way to go – with Chinatown Point or The Central just walking distance away. At night, soak up in the nightlife with tons of bars, restaurants and clubs to choose from at Clarke Quay, Telok Ayer and Boat Quay. Let the nightlife take over and watch Singapore come to LIFE, after dark!

If you’re done with the day’s activities, Capri by Fraser, China Square also makes for a good place to snap some #ootd with colourful murals and art, or get some #homegoals inspiration with the structures, hanging bird cages and quirky lighting fixtures.
