It’s that time of the year again where brands showcase their luscious selection of mooncakes! This Mid-Autumn Festival 2019, indulge in these yummy treats as you celebrate with family and friends. Whether you prefer the traditional baked classic or the snowskin creations, here’s our top 10 mooncakes you must try for Mid-Autumn Festival 2019. Look forward to picking up some artisanal mooncakes from Antoinette – featuring a selection of traditional baked and assorted mini snowskin mooncakes. Created by Chef Pang, those who like the soft mochi-like texture can try their mini snowskin flavours of Crunchy Chocolate Pearls, Ondeh Ondeh, Salted Yolk Truffle and Peach Truffle. Our favourite is the Salted Yolk truffle – filed with low sugar white lotus paste and a rich salted egg yolk centre.
Mid-Autumn celebrations is always a good time at Bakerzin, with eight different range of mooncakes to choose from! This year, look forward to Bakerzin’s limited-edition Bobba Love Collection – featuring boba-inspired flavours with delightful bits of chewy white boba. If you’re a fan of bubble tea, definitely try some of their unique flavours like Pearl Latte, Pearl Yuan Yang, Kanten Passionfruit Mango Grains and Kanten Matcha Red Bean Pomelo. This year, the hotel’s mooncakes are presented in a limited edition travel-themed suitcase which is perfect for gifting too. Look forward to trying their tea-infused flavours of Chrysanthemum with Winter Melon Bits, Red Date with Wolfberries, Earl Grey with Tapioca Pearls and Matcha with Adzuki Beans. The snow skin mooncakes are available at $85/box of 4 from now till 13 September 2019 at Lobby Lounge on Level 1 of Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.
4. Hong Kong Mei Xin
Hong Kong Mei Xin is going all out this Mid-Autumn Festival with a Marvel Avengers themed mooncake and 3D collectible tin boxes. Collect all seven superheroes – Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man and the Hulk and enjoy your Avenger-stamped Lava Custard mooncakes in two different tins: Avengers and Iron Man. A special highlight this year is the Iron Man’s tin – whose eyes, palm and arc reactor light up – up to 100 times for 10 seconds. Limited stocks for MX & Marvel range will be capped at TWO sets per customer.
5. Hong Kong Sheng Kee
An unlikely contender this year, Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert presents their Mini Snowskin Mooncake Collection, featuring 4 different flavours inspired by Hong Kong’s beloved cuisines – Mango Paste Snowskin with Lychee, White Lotus Paste Snowskin with Yolky Custard, Coffee Paste Snowskin with Milk Tea and Red Bean Paste Snowskin with Melon seeds. We love the colours of their snowskin mooncake and their pretty turquoise coloured two-tiered gift box with a rabbit motif.

If you’re looking to unravel a multi-sensorial augmented journey this Mid-Autumn festival, check out this special collaboration between Sheraton Towers and artists from The Business Times Budding Artists Fund. They’ve prepared an exquisitely-designed box that animates to life – with gentle dancing flora and frolicking of children illustrating the coming together of families. Offering both snowskin and traditional baked classics, don’t miss out on their new additions like the Baked Super Seeds Mixed Nuts and Mini Snowskin Chia Seed Dark Chocolate. Other snowskin flavours include champagne, lychee and sea salt truffle dark chocolate.
8. Mandarin Orchard Singapore
Mandarin Orchard Singapore has prepared their mooncakes from recipes crafted by the hotel’s team of masterchefs – featured here are some of their baked delights like the Double Yolk and White Lotus Paste, Baked Mooncake with Mixed Nuts and Jamón Ibérico, and Baked Mooncake with Azuki Red Bean Paste and Pine Nuts. Besides perennial favourites, taking centre stage in this year’s selection is the Limited Edition Piglet-shaped Mooncake filled with two different flavours—Azuki Red Bean Paste and Low Sugar White Lotus Paste. Each baked mooncake is elegantly presented in a custom-designed turquoise tower box, adorned with the brand’s signature lattice pattern, accentuated by a motif of peony flowers in copper foil stamping.
