Just one week away till Chinese New Year, and I’m sure we’re already looking forward to the endless feasting and the customary tradition to gather with our extended family members for the coveted annual reunion dinner. No matter how you plan to usher in the auspicious Year of the Rooster, here’s 5 places to host your reunion feasting for the entire family.

For a refreshing take on CNY this year, Emporium Shokuhin presents Japanese-inspired Yushengs – featuring inventive and zesty rendition of the traditional Lo Hei. Themed as Shokuhin’s Fortune and Prosperity Yushengs, they are available for both dine-in and takeaways. 4. VLV Singapore
One of the latest lifestyle concepts to take over the Clarke Quay scene is VLV Singapore. VLV offers a multi-venue destination, aside from a club lounge at night, the establishment also houses a Chinese restaurant, a courtyard and riverside dining from day to night. Headed by Executive Head Chef Martin Foo, VLV’s Chinese New Year reunion dinner offers a range of 5 set menus starting from $98++ to $268++ per person, and even catering for a vegetarian option.

Each set starts off with VLV’s Lo Hei – traditionally plated with an abundance of all natural ingredients and a housemade passionfruit plum sauce. 5. Yàn at National Gallery Singapore
Celebrate a convivial Lunar New Year with Yàn’s 8 signature set menus specially created by Master Chef Chan Kung Lai. Staying true to their traditional Cantonese roots, expect exquisite creations presented with familiar ingredients for a timeliness yet classic and prosperous feast. Available at $118++ per person to $268++ per person, start the reunion feasting with Yàn’s rendition of the traditional Lo Hei, or the Signature Yellowtail Fish Yu Sheng with Golden Flake in Shun De Style (金箔顺德黄鱼尾捞起) – plated with a base of crispy fried vermicelli to resemble a majestic tower, symbolising heightened success. Topped with all things auspicious, guests can choose to add on crispy cubes of lobster fillet!
